Almost 1 year ago, on July 18, 2011, we announced our book, Backbone.js on Rails.
Since that time, we’ve continually written, updated, and refined the content of the book and example application. We’ve also answered your questions about Backbone.js on Rails via GitHub issues.
Over the last couple of months we’ve completed any outstanding placeholder sections we had in the book, hired a professional editor to edit the book, added several important features to the example application, designed a new cover, and changed from asciidoc to Markdown and the generation system to pandoc (we’re now reliably producing good quality HTML, PDF, EPUB, and Kindle versions of the book).
While the book will never be “complete”, with all of these recent improvements we thought we should put a “1.0” stake in the ground. We will continue to expand and revise it and keep it up to date, and your purchase gets you access to all future updates.
If you’ve already bought Backbone.js on Rails, thank you so much, we appreciate your support! Be sure to visit the GitHub repo to download the latest version of the book and example app. If you haven’t already purchased, now would be an excellent time!
